Monitoring Hurricane Helene

Beach post Helene

Hurricane Helene made landfall as a hurricane in the Big Bend region of Florida and has weakened to a tropical storm.  As of Friday morning, the storm was moving through Macon, Georgia and 100 miles southeast of Atlanta according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

Fortunately, Destin and 30A’s beaches received minimal impact. The beaches look beautiful today and are open to the public, however, double red flags are still in effect and the water is closed for swimming due to dangerous rip currents. Visit the SWFD website for the latest surf conditions.

Newman-Dailey members are visiting all of our properties today, and returning outdoor furniture to patios and pool decks.

Our prayers go out to our neighbors affected by this catastrophic storm. Travelers coming to the Destin area should check local road conditions as flooding and tropical storm winds continue in Georgia, North Carolina, and the Tennessee Valley. Our team is ready to assist any travelers whose vacation plans have been interrupted due to the storm as well as Floridians who have been displaced. Simply call 850-837-1071 and one of our friendly, local vacation specialists are happy to assist you.

We are forecasted for sunny skies with highs in the low 80s this weekend. View the forecast for Destin, Florida here

See you @ the beach!
