Best Local Sushi Spots in Destin

Destin didn’t get to be known as “the world’s luckiest fishing village” by accident. It is true we have some of the best fishing right off the shimmering emerald coast. With great fishing comes great responsibility. That is why we feel it is so important to have so many deliciously fresh caught sushi restaurants in our area. And that’s what makes locals and tourists some of the luckiest fish-loving folks around. Here are just a few of the locals’ favorites.

Camille’s

It’s conveniently located next to the Beachside Inn right across the street from the beach. They have some of the freshest sushi in town. If you love tuna, they’ve got an amazing roll packed and topped with tuna called the 'TNT Roll'. The 'Backdown Roll' is also a best-seller because it has everything, shrimp, spicy sauce, topped with tuna, avocado and krab salad. Yum! Be sure to go on a Wednesday for Ladies’ night! $2 off rolls, and half price drinks.

Harbor Docks

Local color, local flavor. They pride themselves on being ‘gulf to table’. Perfectly located right on the harbor, this local hot spot is great if you’re looking for dinner with a view. They have award winning sushi, starting at $5. It is locally owned and operated by the same family who owns Camille’s. They love Destin so much, they’ve even named a roll after the place they call home, the 'Destin Roll' with tuna, avocado, and spicy sauce. 

Primrose

Located in the brand new Henderson Inn in the Crystal Beach area, this restaurant has some very fresh, very unique rolls to offer as well. From dock to table, you can’t go wrong with the ‘Florida Roll’ which is rolled with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and topped with spicy tuna. You’re sure to taste the freshness with their delicious rolls. They also have a very sophisticated fine-dining menu, and even offer private dining with reservations.

Sushimoto

Looking for authentic Japanese sushi? Sushimoto is a small, quaint sushi spot tucked away in the Miramar Beach area. They have sushi and sashimi combos, and are home of the fan favorite, the ‘Danny Roll’ which has tuna, cream cheese, bacon, and eel sauce on top. 

Jackacuda’s

Located in the heart of the Harborwalk Village, this spot is great for the whole family. They’ve got some very creative and innovative rolls, such as the ‘Prime Lobster’, with spicy lobster, asparagus, filet, bacon, green onion, dill and Dijon mustard. All their rolls are packed with flavor and love. And after, walk along the harbor and watch the boats come in with tomorrow’s dinner.

McGuire’s Sushi

McGuire’s Irish Pub has recently branched out and opened up a delicious restaurant next door called McGuire’s Sushi. Pair the McGuire’s Irish Red Ale with the ‘Godzilla Roll’ with soft shell crab, shrimp, lump crab salad, and eel sauce on top. Have fun in there while you chow down on some sushi, then head over to McGuire’s Irish Pub for some late night fun.
