Dewey Destin's Habor Restaurant for Lunch

Are you searching for a Destin restaurant with a great view of the Harbor and fresh seafood? While we have many favorite restaurants, we were recently reminded how much we love Dewey Destin’s Seafood Restaurant.

Dewey Destin’s has two locations, both with views of the water, and we recently visited their Harborside location. We’ve been to this eatery for dinner many times but usually don’t think of Dewey Destin’s for lunch. Our winter guests, Linda and Butch Baldini who stay with us at Jade East Towers in Destin, invited our team to lunch before they headed back to Michigan, and suggested Dewey Destin’s. Great idea! 

We were surprised they didn’t postpone our annual lunch date since the weather was absolutely perfect and they love to golf. With so many great area golf courses, and of course, our gorgeous beaches, it would be easy to skip lunch to enjoy the great Florida weather and activities, but they did not leave us hanging.

We arrived at Dewey Destin’s promptly at noon and we were politely greeted and seated outside right away. The view from the porch was awesome. The emerald green water was sparkling, and it was fun to watch the boats passing by. It was March 1, and sunny and 70 degrees! We love Florida’s Emerald Coast!

The Dewey Destin’s Harborside menu offered a lot of choices, but we were craving the fried grouper sandwich with fries. Living along the coast, we’re pretty spoiled and selective about our fish sandwiches and this one was so tasty and inexpensive.  The fish was golden and delicious. The fries were perfectly crinkled. Our winter friends ordered seafood baskets--one of fish and the other with shrimp along with hushpuppies. Our server even treated us to some of their homemade coleslaw as well. It was delicious! It was crunchy and not overly dressed (not drowned in mayo like some coleslaws). Overall, it was a great lunch with a relaxed Destin atmosphere. We’re ready to go back with our families and friends.
