Horseback Riding near Destin at Arnette's Gulfside Trail Rides

With the spectacular fall temperatures along the Emerald Coast, our guests have been asking about outdoor activities in and around Destin that are beyond the beach. In addition to recommending a visit to the Destin Harbor to watch the local fisherman unloading the day’s catch, an afternoon meeting the animal ambassadors at the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park and a hike along one of the many nature trails within area state parks, we have another great suggestion. A horseback ride through Point Washington State Forest at Arnette's Gulfside Trails is a "must have" experience when visiting the beaches of South Walton and Destin. 

Arnette’s Gulfside Trail Rides is a wonderful way to enjoy outdoors and explore the trails within Point Washington State Forest, a 13,800 acre state forest located throughout South Walton County. Arnette’s features a 20-acre horse ranch, which is located only half a mile from the Gulf of Mexico near Scenic Highway 30A. Arnette’s offers trail rides, stables, event hosting, parties and camping.

Horse lovers can simply visit the stables and meet the horses or sign up for a trail ride. Experienced trail bosses are available for individual or group tours and guided horse rides through the state forest. (Horses must stay within the forest as they are not permitted on area beaches). A one hour trail ride is available for $50/person for ages six and up. Arnette's has a variety of horses for all skill levels, ranging from beginner to expert, making the facility well-suited for new riders and experienced riders alike. 

The tour guides are ready to share their knowlege and passion for the unique attributes of the long needle pine forest, which includes indigenous flowers such as rosemary, blue lupine, palmettos and the endangered pitcher plant.
