Stinky's Fish Camp Pompano Tournament

There are many Florida fishing seasons along the Emerald Coast, spring brings an abundance of Pompano. This time of year you'll find menus throughout Santa Rosa Beach and Destin, Fla. filled with different preparations of this deliciously sweet, mild flavored fish .

Next month begins the Stinky's Fish Camp Pompano Tournament . The fun kicks off at Stinky's Fish Camp restaurant in Santa Rosa Beach with a Captain's Party on April 1st. No it's not an April Fool's joke, Stinky's holds a Crawfish Fest that is open to the public and gets participants fueled up to catch fish. The Pompano Tournament begins on April 2 and runs through May 15. Bring your catch and weigh-in at Stinky's for a chance to win $2,500 in cash and prizes!

Florida Pompano is a common in inshore fish so whether you're fishing from the beach or you charter a boat to troll near shore waters, you'll be a winner if you come home with an cooler of this succulently sweet fish for dinner.
